Most people think about displaying ornaments during the Christmas season. They are most often used to decorate the tree for a month or less then get packed away until the next Christmas season.
There are a variety of ways to display ornament. Many can be displayed year-round. For Instance, I have a small collection of Art Glass ornaments that are arranged in a bowl on my dining room table. Several were purchased in Venice, Italy and I consider them works of art because of their unique designs and colors.
Over the years, I've come across many ways to display ornaments during the holidays and beyond. Here are just a few to think about:
1. Try filling a vase with your favorite ornaments in a monochromatic or multi-color display. This is a great option in place of a Christmas tree if you'll be traveling or want to make a small space festive.
2. Attach ornaments to a wreath or make an ornament wreath of your own. You might need to visit your local craft store for a wreath form and hot glue gun to do the job. Simply glue the ornaments to the wreath as closely together as possible, add a hanger for display or use it as a centerpiece.
3. Use well placed ornaments to dress up holiday greenery on a banister, across a fireplace, around a door or as a centerpiece.
4. Use ornament stands and/or a metal Christmas tree to display special ornaments or to bring Christmas to small spaces. I fell in love with metal trees after seeing one beautifully decorated as part of an Australian Christmas display. Visit aettra.com to see the ornament stands we think are a great way to display ornaments all year long.
